What is Remember?
Remember is a photo time capsule app for iPhone and Android. You take a photo, choose who receives it, and seal it for 1 to 5 years. Nobody can see it until the unlock date.
How long can I seal a photo for?
Between 1 and 5 years, in whole years. You choose when you create the capsule and cannot shorten it afterwards.
Can anyone peek at a sealed photo?
No. Until the unlock date the photo is never sent to any device and never shown, not to the recipients and not to the person who sealed it. Photos are stored privately and encrypted.
Do I need an account to use Remember?
No. You can take, seal and receive capsules without an account. Creating one (with your email) backs your vault up to the cloud so it survives a lost or replaced phone.
Who can I send a capsule to?
Yourself ("Future me"), and friends and family who have joined Remember. To send to someone new, share an invite link. Remember is for friends and family, and we never message your contacts without your tap.
Can I open a capsule before the date?
No. A capsule stays sealed until its unlock date for everyone, including the person who sealed it and the people it was sent to. That is the point: it is worth waiting for.
What can I put in a capsule?
A photo for someone you love, or a few things just for you: a selfie to meet in a year, a selfie on repeat (daily, weekly or monthly for one to three years, played back as one film when it opens), a year plan with three goals, or a letter to your future self. Everything stays sealed until the date.
Can I choose a photo from my gallery?
No. Remember only seals photos you take at that moment with the in-app camera. They are never added to your camera roll, so nobody can look at them before the unlock date, including you. When a capsule is opened, screenshots and screen recording of the photo are blocked.
How much does Remember cost?
Remember is free to download and use.
What happens if I lose my phone?
If you created an account, sign in on the new phone and your vault is back. Without an account, a vault lives only on that phone, so we recommend adding one.
What happens to capsules if I delete my account?
Your cloud data is deleted. Capsules you sent to other people stay sealed for them and will still open on their date. Capsules only you could open are removed.
How old do I have to be?
Remember is for ages 13 and up.
Which devices does Remember run on?
iPhone and Android phones. There is no web version of the app: this website only describes it.
How will I know when a capsule opens?
Remember sends a notification on the unlock date. You can switch unlock reminders on or off in Settings, and a ready capsule always appears at the top of your vault.
