What Remember is

Remember lets you take a photo and seal it for 1 to 5 years for yourself or for people you invite. This policy explains what we collect to make that work and what we do with it.

What we collect

Photos you seal, the unlock date, and who the capsule is for.

Account details if you create an account: your email address, your name, and your password (stored hashed). Without an account we create an anonymous identifier tied to your device.

Your friends and family list inside Remember, and invite links you create.

Your language, push notification token, app version and device platform.

Usage events (for example, that a capsule was sealed) so we can improve the app, sent to our analytics provider, Mixpanel.

Your photos

Photos are stored privately and encrypted. Until a capsule's unlock date its photo is not delivered to any device. We do not look at your photos, use them to train models, or show them to anyone before the unlock date. We may review a capsule only to respond to a safety report.

Contacts and permissions

The camera is used to take photos. The photo library is used only to save opened photos if you turn that on. We never access your contacts. We also block screenshots and screen recording while an opened photo is on screen.

Who we share data with

Service providers that run Remember for us: cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, push notifications (Expo) and analytics (Mixpanel). They may only use data to provide their service. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep data

We keep a capsule until it has opened and the recipients have no further use for it, or until you delete it or your account. When you delete your account your cloud data is deleted, except as described below.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app (Me, Settings, Delete account) or from our delete-account page. Capsules you sent to other people remain sealed for them. Backups are overwritten within 30 days. You can export your data from Settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to some processing. Use the in-app tools or write to us.

Children

Remember is for ages 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a child under 13 uses Remember, contact us and we will delete the account.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
